This is a boardgame that we no longer produce in its original form ourselves but is one that Gibsons Games and then Avalon Hill did manufacture and distribute across the seven continents, well a few continents anyway. Hasbro then produced, in collaboration with ourselves, a terrific version of the game and it's been out of print for some time, but we have worked on the design in order to bring ‘Brief History of the World’ into the 20th Century properly, with a new twist on the combat system that gives a great feel to the expansion of empires! See Design notes for details.
It's a game that spans 5000 years of human history and chronicles what might have happened if for instance the Romans had been led by Dave from Cambridge, the Moguls had been advised by Phil from Huddersfield, the Assyrian Dogs of War had been let off the leash by Jason from March and the Hsiung Nu had been looked up in a dictionary of World History by yours truly.
I know I'm biased but it's a super game and I've yet to meet a person who's played it and not liked it.
