‘Monastery’ a game for 2 to 4 players, age 14 to adult.
Amazing what two days of work and prayer can achieve!
‘Monastery’ is a game with a sense of common purpose and smouldering enmity. Your busy monks build a Medieval monastery by laying tiles around the central Abbey building. They move around on the tiles, constructing, working and praying and also visit the Abbey for the services of Matins, Sext and Vespers. Depending on what they do, the monks will score points that enable them to collect letters making up their part of the Monastery motto, ‘Libera nos queasumus ab omnibus malis. Amen’ (part of the Lord’s Prayer).
The game is light-hearted but not irreverent, is beautifully illustrated and has some interesting components (the monks tilt forward to show they are praying).
